Upload images using the desktop client

Please note: the desktop client is currently only available for Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) and above. If you have a previous version of Windows or an alternative operating system unfortunately the desktop client is unavailable at this time.

Using the desktop client


After installing the desktop client, from the images tab of the item edit screen you can click the "+Add new image(s) via windows desktop client" link:




Running for the first time


If you are presented with a dialogue similar to the ones below:

Firefox


Firefox: Please ensure the "FullPicture.Client" option is selected (as above), tick the "Remember my choice for x-fullpicture links." checkbox and click "OK". You may need to re-click the "Upload new image(s) via the Windows desktop client" link.

Internet Explorer


Internet Explorer: Please uncheck the "Always ask before opening this type of address" checkbox and click the "Allow" button. You may need to re-click the "Upload new image(s) via the Windows desktop client" link.

Chrome


Chrome: Please check the "Remember my choice for all links of this type" checkbox and click the "Launch Application" button. You may need to re-click the "Upload new image(s) via the Windows desktop client" link.

You may see a loading overlay whilst the windows desktop client is launched:



Selecting your images


 You should now be presented with the standard file open dialogue:


From this dialogue you can select the image(s) you wish to upload via the desktop client.
Click the "Open" button when you have selected your image(s).

Images uploading


 The Full Picture edit webpage will now update to show you the progress of your image uploads:



When the uploads are complete the preview thumbnails will be loaded into the page and the process is complete:
